For Zitkála-Šá/ Opening: Days of Reading + Performances & Panel Discussion

Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art opens our fall exhibition: “Days of Reading” co-curated by Sarah Nesbitt and Jenifer Papararo, featuring artists Shannon Bool, Fabiola Carranza, Raven Chacon, Natalie Czech, Leah Decter, Theaster Gates, Hassan Khan, Ken Lum, Sylvia Matas and Jeanne Randolph. Opening events include: a panel discussion with renowned artist and composer Raven Chacon alongside collaborators Suzanne Kite and Laura Ortman, centring the collaborative project, “For Zitkála-šá”* initiated by Chacon. Following the panel, Kite and Ortman will perform individual compositions. Everyone welcome!

    *Zitkála-Šá (1876–1938), was a Yankton Dakota woman known as a composer, writer, editor, teacher and political activist.
