Where We Were Born – New Thoughts on Marching Bands 4

Explore St. Boniface and the origins of our province in new, musical ways. Non-musicians and musicians alike are invited to join this musical piece written on a map instead of a musical score.

The score provides inspiration for music making while allowing each participant to ad-lib the piece freely in their own way.

Where We Were Born will explore the roots of Manitoba as a Province. Noting Louis Riel’s statue and gravesite the melodies and harmonies will reflect our tumultuous past and our hope for the future.

No skill required! This is a space for public music making that is accessible, uninhibited and fun. Bring your own instrument, your own voice, or use the noise makers provided.

Meet at the Louis Riel Monument outside of Université de Saint-Boniface to start the group performance at 6:45 pm. Walk through the piece at your own pace throughout the night of September 30th.
